How do you go about measuring for new curtains?
Our tailor-made curtains are precisely fitted to your track, ensuring a perfect look. They come with 200% fullness (or 180% for double curtains), so no need to worry about adjustments. Accurate measuring is key for hassle-free installation.
You’ll need a metal tape measure, pencil, paper, and possibly a step ladder for high places. Order a track slightly wider than your window recess to avoid excessive coverage when drawn open. We suggest adding 150mm (up to 300mm) on each side. If space is limited, contact us for solutions.
Measure the track width and the desired curtain length (deducting 10mm for face-fixed and 20mm for ceiling-fixed). Don’t worry about track depth; we’ll handle it. For face-fixed curtains, we recommend this option, especially with cornices, to keep the curtain close to the window.
Measurement Guidelines
STEP BY STEP
-
Step 1: Wall-to-Wall Track Measurement For curtains spanning from one wall to another, measure from the left-side wall to the right-side wall. Upon receiving your order, we will deduct 20mm from this measurement to ensure a comfortable fit within the facing walls. This applies to both single and double curtains.
-
Step 2: Butting Corner Track Measurement When dealing with separate tracks meeting inside or outside corner walls, measure each wall from its left or right side to the corner where they converge. After receiving your order, we'll make slight adjustments to these measurements for a precise and neat fit. This requirement is consistent for both single and double curtains.
-
Step 3: Corner Curve Track Measurement For tracks incorporating a 90-degree curved corner section, allowing the track to seamlessly navigate inside or outside corner meeting walls, measure each wall from its left or right side to the corner where they meet. Upon order receipt, we'll make minor adjustments to ensure the track sections fit seamlessly, allowing the curtain to move smoothly. This standard applies to both single and double curtains.
